What are the system requirements for streaming a video?
Although there are no specific hardware requirements, streaming video is very resource intensive and viewers on older computers or running outdated software may encounter problems. We recommend the following for an optimal viewing experience:
Browser: Google Chrome (although others will work as long as they are updated and have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed)
Internet connection: A minimum download speed of 1Mbps is required to watch without interruptions. You can test your internet speed directly to our servers by visiting

Do I need to register for an NRI Film Club account to watch videos?
Yes, you must create an NRI Film Club account to access streamed videos. Sign up by visiting
www.nritvfilmclub.com/free.php and entering the required fields.
The picture or sound on my video is choppy and won't play smoothly. What's wrong?
Playback issues can be caused by hardware, software, and internet connection issues and can thus be hard to pinpoint sometimes. The easiest way to rule out hardware or software problems is to try watching one of the videos from a different device (e.g. another computer or a phone/tablet). If the stream continues to stutter, it is likely an issue with your internet connection.
Can I watch the streaming videos on my phone or tablet?
Absolutely. The streaming videos are compatible with most versions of Android, iOS (iPhone, iPod, iPad), and other devices that support HLS streaming. To watch from your mobile device, just visit our website from your browser (Safari for iOS and Chrome for Android are recommended), sign in with your account, and choose the video you want to watch. You should see a play icon on the video player which will start playing if you tap on it.
What if I forgot my username or password?
If you cannot remember the e-mail address you signed up with, please send an e-mail to
[email protected] with some identifying information that you would have used during the registration process (e.g. address or full name) and an email address to contact you. We will send you an e-mail with your username. If you have forgotten your password, visit
http://www.nritvfilmclub.com/forgot_password.php and enter the e-mail address you signed up with to have it sent to you. After you have received the existing password, we recommend creating a new one as soon as possible.
How do I change my password?
To change your password, sign into your account, click
My Account on the top right of your screen. Click the Update Password button, enter your desired new password, and click Submit to confirm the change.
I don't have the minimum system requirements. Is there any other way to view the videos?
The videos are compatible with a large variety of devices, including most computers, phones, tablets, smart TV browsers, and more. Chances are good that at least one of the devices in your home will be able to stream videos without issues.
How long should a video take to download?
Videos are streamed, meaning that although though you are not watching a "live" feed, you are receiving the content in real-time. This makes loading and switching between segments in a video incredibly fast as long as you have a stable internet connection. However, the video will not buffer, which is why a stable internet connection with a download speed of 1Mbps or greater is required.
